Hans Marti, born in 1896, died in 1985, concluded his studies in jurisprudence at the University of Berne in 1939 by becoming an approved advocate. Subsequently he went to the Académie de droit international in Den Haag.
In war times he prepared his dissertation and in 1944 he handed in a habilitation thesis on “Das Verordnungsrecht des Bundesrats”. After being a private lecturer for many years he was eventually nominated extraordinary professor in 1953.
